This means you only get to pay what’s necessary for the remaining period of the billing cycle. When you downgrade, your charge is prorated as well. In most cases, you will not be charged and will get extra credits towards the next billing cycle. When you cancel your subscription/downgrade to free, you will still enjoy your paid values till end of the billing cycle. Once the cycle is complete, your account will then be adjusted to the free plan.
